Goslings Growing Up
In the spring I was reeling from the sudden loss of WILL (see ODE in a separate gallery) when newly hatched goslings greeted me at the Duck Pond. Over the next weeks I seemed to encounter these young friends at regular intervals and they were happy to pose for the camera.
Once the goslings grew into adolescence it took encouragement for them to pose. Yet as I was ready to give up, the sweethearts made sure to give me a couple direct eye contact poses.
So sad, within days after the final pictures the entire brood was gone. My assumption is the Duck Pond “authorities” had the geese removed from their home. At least they waited until the goslings were young adults yet I remain saddened by the action.
