05-25-18 For me, a top Myers Clan Gulf Coast Tour highlight was introducing Dionne & Megan to the Rod & Reel Pier Restaurant. There are so many special family memories, especially with Mom & Tom, at the restaurant. Less than an hour earlier, we traveled across the Skyway Bridge from the Tampa Airport; the bridge is featured in the background. ... and the local arriving at the pier with his fishing reels was a big added bonus!

The City Pier - Anna Maria Island

05-25-18 Originally built in 1911, The City Pier on Anna Maria Island was decimated by Hurricane Irma last fall and remains closed pending reconstruction, estimated at 3.2 million for the pier and another 1.3 million for the restaurant and bait shop. In the meantime, an array of waterfowl enjoys the rickety pier. As it was a favorite Gulf Coast destination for Uncle Pork, The City Pier was the first stop on the Myers Clan Gulf Coast tour after picking up Dionne & Megan from the Tampa Airport. Yay, the weather was gorgeous while at the pier!
