Hickory Grove Farm - pond
06-07-17 When Kennesaw State University took over the Hickory Grove farm land, storm water flowed off the barren property. Integral to regenerative agriculture, storm water management was a top priority for farm development.
The farm pond was formed by on-property storm water retention and is home to myriad of wildlife, including frogs, a pair of mallard ducks, an array of birds and a multitude of insects, including abundant dragonflies.
In addition, the pond water is the hydration source for the Hydroponic Lab that grows abundant crops of a variety of tomatoes, peppers cucumbers for the KSU dining services.
